Last Wednesday a woman was killed and 39 were wounded in Jerusalem near a bus stop when a bomb exploded. It was the first serious terrorist bombing in Jerusalem since 2004. Police don't know yet who was responsible for the bomb, but the Islamic Jihad had vowed last Tuesday to avenge a series of Israeli air strikes in the Gaza strip. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any quick solutions to the Arab-Israeli tensions, because their issues go back hundreds of years. Dr. Sontag

I personally think it was great for at&t to buy T-mobile because now at&t may get more customers. Even though the article said, "T-Mobile customers can relax for now, as the acquisition has many regulatory hurdles ahead, since the combined as the largest telecommunications company in the United States." some of the T-Mobile customers still may switch to At&t.

We feel bad about the food in Japan and all the costumers who have to eat it because of the radiation. They think that the food is discolored because of the radiation in the air/soil from a nuclear plant near by. There is also trace amounts of iodine in the tap water that they drink.

I think that it is good and bad that AT&T bought T-Mobile. From AT&T's view, this is great news.It will allow them to expand their coverage, and increase their networks speeds. On the other hands, this is not very good for T-Mobile customers. AT&T will likely impose heavy data caps on them, and raise the prices up into the unthinkable. Because of this, I think that there will be lots of wars between loyal AT&T and T-Mobile customers.

Before, AT&T paid billions of dollars every year to expand their coverage and network, but simply purchasing T-Mobile's network will allow AT&T to stop spending so much money on expanding their network and coverage, and will hopefully also allow AT&T to offer faster data connection speeds. Hopes are that T-Mobile's 4G technology will defeat Verizon's and other CDMA network's LTE offerings. T-Mobile also uses GSM, which means more and more of the phones in the world will be compatible with this network.

I think it was smart for AT&T to buy T-Mobile. I think this because they are both very well known and it will double their success. If you think about it, some of the most popular phone brands are AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verison. If you combine 2 of those brands you will most likely have a good result. Plus AT&T has the IPhone and T-Mobile didn't. So really it was a very good move for AT&T to do.

I think that it is wonderful that Egypt is finally getting the freedom to vote that they have had the right to all their lives. I think that things are moving a little bit too quickly, and that they should try to slow things down a little bit because when it comes to things like these if you not careful you will crash and burn. I also find it interesting that, mostly everything comes back to religion, because they were talking about the Muslims and the Christians. All in all, I just really hope that Egypt gets the freedom they deserve.

I think that AT&T shouldn't have bought T-Mobile because that will leave them with allot of unsatisfied customers. Even if T-Mobile earned allot of money now they will regret it in the long run. AT&T made a huge mistake also because not allot of people have them because of their very high prices. So, more people will probably be switching to Sprint, Boost Mobile, or just something cheaper. So I think that AT&T and T-Mobile made a huge mistake by doing that.

I think that the super moon was a great sight for people. Since this is something that happened 18 years ago before Saturday, this is a astrological sight to see. The ellipse of the moon's orbit was at its perigee, which is something that should happen more occur,but because of gravitation pull and inertia, the moon appeared only slightly larger. 18 thousand miles made the moon look only 6% bigger. I know that i wouldn't be able to tell the moon was bigger by just looking at it. Still, the rare chance of having a super moon above your head is something worth seeing.

i think that AT&T bought T-MOBILE because they weren't really getting anybody to buy their phones.So people went to AT&T so they could get the iphone 4 and what other cool phones they get.Also there are other phone companies like boost mobile and virgin mobile those are cheap phones pay as you go so people started to go to there because they are cheaper if they put down some of their prices they will get their regular customers again.

I think that the fact that AT&T is buying T-Mobile will be both a good and a bad thing. You also have to consider that the acquisition may not even happen, though, because the FCC has to approve it. It may be good because, being an AT&T customer myself, I know that in our area AT&T does not have the best cell coverage. If they acquire T-Mobile, their coverage will improve when the two networks are combined. There are also some bad things that may occur, though. First, it may reduce competition in the US Cellular industry, which might bring up prices. T-Mobile has been known to have some of the lowest cellular plan prices available in the US over AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. If they are acquired by AT&T, their current customers will have to pay extra for the more costly AT&T plans. In addition, the disappearance of T-Mobile would mean that the other cell providers would not have to price as competitively.
ReplyDeleteAnother issue is that AT&T's network runs off of the global cell standard called GSM, as does T-Mobile's, which is why T-Mobile would be the optimal company for AT&T to acquire to boost their coverage. The problem with that it that AT&T and T-Mobile both offer 3G cell coverage on their GSM networks, but they use different standards for their 3G connections. This would possibly be a major setback for AT&T, because then they would not be able to take full advantage of T-Mobile's advanced 3G and now new 4G network protocols.
These are some of the things that regulators in the FCC are going to be looking at while considering whether to approve the deal or not, and may be why it will not pass.

We were shocked that AT&T bought out T-mobile because verison is a bigger phone company, and for sure they would want to buy them out. We also think that t-mobile wasn't a big company anyway. AT&T might become an even bigger company. It could possibly take over verison, and buy hem out too. But, verison is also a big enough company and many people have their phone service.

Issy and megan both agree that the bombing incident in Jerusalem was very cruel. Although only one women died doozens of people were severely injured. The terrorist left a bag by a bust station. The bag exploded and many witnesses could identify the man. All the inoccent people that were wounded were taken to 4 different local hospitals. Police think that while the explosion occured the terrorist was most likely close by. All in all, we think that there was so much harm to inoccent people and the did not deserve this.

We think that 39 billion dollars is a lot of money to buy T-mobile. Many T-mobile customers were scared that their phone bills would get higher. This is because thats what happened to at&t customers. If you really liked T-mobile then you might not feel that the quality is as good and you wouldn't have a choice because of your contract.

I think that the super moon that occurred was pretty cool because it rarely occurs. For some odd reason, people thought that that because of the super moon, there was going to be an earthquake bigger than that of Japans. They were totally wrong because super moons are harmless but a beautiful thing to look at if your bored. E ven though i didn't see a super moon occur, I think that it's pretty cool. The reason why the super moon occurred was because the moon does not orbit around the moon perfectly. This is why the moon was larger than any other full moon.

I mean think about it do you want to be terrified if all you try to do is go to work or school??? No one should ever be put in that sort of terror to just get out of the house! Every one has a right to be able to get out of their house without fear. As americans living in a none war zone we don't have to worry about these sort of things as much but we also take it for granted! Hopefully though that was the worst that would happen to those people...

I think that now since AT&T bought out T-Mobile, there is a decrease in competition. Unfortunately, I also believe that even though they decreased the competition against AT&T, they could have made a poor decision that makes Verizion a stronger company. I believe this because if there are unhappy T-Mobile customers that are not willing to convert to AT&T due to the lack of signal or reasonable price, there is a high chance that they will switch to Verizion Wireless. The specialty phone at AT&T is the IPhone so, if AT&T made this decision months ago they would have possibly had an increade in customers because Verizion didn’t have the IPhone. If Verizion receives more customers, they can make better phone quicker and faster and keep receiving more customers. This decision can make an increase in customers for AT&T, or can cause them to file bankrupt.

One of the injured people was believed to be a tourist at the time. She was 60 years old and later afternoon treated her injuries. The terrorist might of been only a block away because the bomb seemed to be a cellular device or a timer. This event was really sad because innocent people were hurt and even killed.

On March 19 the earth's moon was amazing! It wasn't like any other full moon because the normal moon is 239,228 miles from Earth. The super moon was slightly closer at 221,643 miles from Earth. We think the super moon was unbelievable and only happens once in a while.

I think that Japan's unfortunate events caused a lot of grief because of all the deaths, food and water loss. But now i think that it will open their eyes to alternate resource such as solar power. This is so people will not be affected by the radiation if another earthquake happens. Also, it would be smarter to think about where they live because they live on a intersection of two plates. If they think of this, livestock and agriculture will not be contaminated leaving everyone to live happily. It's all a chain reaction allowing them to live in peace.

Because it was inconvenient for some that iPhones use the AT&T network, I think it's great that AT&T bought T-Mobile. While there are many people that originally used T-Mobile, they had to become AT&T users with an iPhone. For example, unlike my family, my dad was forced to use the AT&T network with his iPhone. However, because T-Mobile and AT&T have become one, it will be easier for many original T-Mobile users to use an iPhone without being involved in more complicated payments and balances of their phones.
