The costs for college will go up in California because California lawmakers are trying to balance a budget that has a $26.6 billion deficit. While I feel for the students who will face rising college costs, I also realize that everyone must feel the squeeze if we are to close this $26.6 billion gap. I think the students who are protesting higher costs for a college education in California need to face the hard realities of life in California. For one thing, businesses have fled the State, lowering the amount of taxes California collects to pay for things like our community colleges. Because of our huge deficit, everyone will feel the economic pinch of hard times. Dr. Sontag
OMG Ohio is in horrible condition right now!!!! I just cannot believe they are having such horrible storms while here we have semi nice weather. I sure am glad I wasn't visiting Ohio because 1000 houses had to be evacuated!! OMG! I am so glad I am SAFE here!!!

I think that the tropical storm in Ohio is a horrible, devastating disaster because 25 people died and a 1,000 homes have been destroyed. I still can't believe that there is a tropical storm in the Midwest! Also, the fact remains that this is the worst flood Ohio had in a century! All I hope for is that tropical storms, like tropical storm Erin, (the name of the storm that struck Ohio) won't happen again and that the people remain safe.

I think that the fact that Democrats and Republicans finally decided on a a budget that they both agree o is very good. I think this because all the procrastinating and lack of compromise was getting the government in a very tight spot, since part of the government was nearly shut down. This is also good because some people (however, I'm a bit of a pessimist) believe that this new budget will help get us out of debt.

I think college students should protest against more expensive tuition because I know what it is like for high priced to be inconvenient. A student should not be denied education because of his or her budget. What if a genius that came from a poor family did not have enough money to get into college? Raising the prices of the tuition is wrong, and if I was just about to go to college, I would protest as well.
ReplyDeleteI really feel bad for Japan and all the problems that they are facing. To know that their aftershocks are bigger then our earthquakes is really terrifying. Even if the earthquake happened more than a month ago I cant believe that dead bodies are still appearing. I hope that some miracle can help stabilize Japan again. Also Im amazed that the people who survived have not done any robbery. For example in Haiti, after their earthquake many supermarkets were robbed and people fought over food. In Japan everyone respects each other and no one has fought over food yet.

The weather seems to be calming down and now they are still expirencing rain but its better than having a terrible flood/storm. I think it is terrible that the cost for collage is now going up. It shouldn't go up because Obama said that he was going to help kids get into school! The jobs in California are already bad enough all we need is to pay more to get into collage! Shouldn't be a little cheaper to get into collage because education is good for kids like us. If there is no education than people won't be able to get jobs then can't support there families. This is what we call the domino affect. This could all happen just because they raised the price to go to collage!!!!!

I think the disaster in Japan is horrible and it is getting worse now because the scientists first predicted that the leaking of the nuclear power plant won't go as worse as the chernobyl power plant explosion but now the scientists say that the conditions are getting worse than they thought it would. If someone has no money and wants to make something of themselves they have to have money so no matter what your stuck in the same place with no money. I think that the tropical storm in Ohio is a horrible outcome of nature that devastated the state. Since it was the worst flooding in a century,people may have not been able to kno what to do. Because of that, the death toll may be a large number that is too ridiculous for a flooding problem. So far, 25 people dead and 1000 people evacuated seems to be not as many people. But, flooding causes problems in the present and future, so it's hard to tell whether the storm is over. If everything is to saturated with water from flooding and additional rain, some structures may break by just leaning on it. Overall, it's not good to be too careful once the eye of the storm appears.

We think that it is bad that they are raising the costs for education because there are some people in this world that want to get a good job. And if you want a good job then you will have to go to a good collage, and to go to a new collage you need money. If they raise the costs for education then you will have to save up a lot of money and collages are already supper supper expensive. Also they are trying to help the economy and by doing this they are not going anywhere by doing this to people because people will not be able to live their dreams and get a good education and get a good job...this is a big deal and we don't think that anyone would like this. Especially the parents who are paying for their children's education.

I think that the legal battle that Apple is having with Samsung is bad for the electronic industry for several reasons. First of all, I do agree with Apple that Samsung and many other mobile phone/tablet makers infringed on Apple's intellectual property (patents) when designing their products' hardware and software. But the thing is, seeing it from the views of Apple's competitors, it's hard not to steal Apple's designs, because it's obvious that their revolutionary designs (thanks to Jonathan Ive!) are what consumers want the most. To give you some more background into the story, Apple filed a lawsuit against Samsung for infringing on their patents in the software and hardware designs of their Galaxy S series devices. Samsung has fired back on several other lawsuits, and has even claimed that Apple stole their intellectual property. Even though they are having some issues with consumer products, Samsung is one of Apple's biggest suppliers in all for their products, and it would be deviating for the two companies to lose their electronic relationships.

In conclusion, it's true that Apple holds the property rights to the product designs, but looking at it from a competitor's view, there really aren't many more ways to design a stylish smartphone electronic product without using the designs consumers have grown accustomed to seeing.
Education is getting expensive, but there is nothing you do, the government needs money, but the people can’t do much. I also agree education shouldn’t get so expensive, but instead of protesting, people should just demand a vote. So instead of education cuts, they could just cut the money from all the crazy LUXURIES instead of needs. Everyone is spending more money on luxuries instead of necessities. I really think that, this type of cut should happen, because luxuries aren’t important, necessities are!

I think it is horrible that the death toll in Japan continues to rise because I think that the Japanese have been through enough. Not only did they have a 9.0 earthquake but they also had a nuclear meltdown at the Fukishima Daiyichi Nuclear Plant. The radiation is so bad there that my relatives all the way in China have to wash their vegetables twice before they can cook and eat it. My blessings go out to all those people that have lost family and friends. I also hope that all the homeless will hopefully find homes before the next year.

If the schools need money they need money and they can't just ask the teachers for every penny they have to support the school. they also need money to give to the teachers for their yearly budget to buy supplies.

I think riseing costs is bad. It isn't right. I think this because as the students costs go up so does it's schools "principal" or headmasters salarie! This doesn't sound like liberty. This government got us in this debt so why should we have to pay? This is the land of the free and the brave isn't it? To me it looks like a bunch of nonsense.
