Dictator Gaddafi in Libya has tried to shoot his way out of the national revolution going on his country. Over 200 people were killed this week as they demonstrated in the streets, calling for Gaddafi to step down as Libya's leader. This week Gadaffi also tried to bribe his people to keep him in power by giving each family in Libya $400. I don't think the demonstrators will give up, because other dictators in Egypt and Tunisia have already been convinced to give up their dictorial in response to demonstrators' demands.

I think that Gaddafi will definitely be forced to step down from power, because the citizens far outnumber the military and the military can't kill all the citizens. Otherwise there would be no one left in the country. Also, it seems to be a trend that the dictators in Africa are stepping down from their positions.

Until the dead people have been found, the sewage, electricity, and buildings repaired, everyone will have to sit tight and hope for the best.

I think that the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand is horrible and scary. I think this beacuse many people have died (death toll is about 163) and others have lost limbs and/or houses. My dad's best friend lives there and luckly none of his family was hurt or killed. His house isnt looking so well though. I really hope their (New Zealand's) condition improves.

It is also frightening how 22 people were stuck under a collapsed church from the quake. Ony 20 bodies in total were identified of the 163 bodies found dead.

I think that the New Zealand earthquake was a natural occurrence that happens occasionally. Nature would once in a while turn back on you due to fixing itself, so it would be best to move on. The people in New Zealand should be lucky that they weren't in Haiti. Haiti still hasn't recovered after a year, and New Zealand would be fine after 2 months. If not, less. So, the death of 200 after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake would be enough for New Zealand to handle.

I think what happened to the people in the boat by Somalia. is very sad because all they were trying to do is have a good time and the people responsible should be punished because they shouldn't be able to just go around killing people for money and food. They also could have just taken the food and money without killing them since it was soooo unnecessary. Even though its a poor country doesn't give them the excuse to kill people. What if they had imagined those people as them or their families getting killed. I understand that these people are hungry and dieing, but murder isn't the option they didn't HAVE to kill the innocent people that just wanted to see the world.

Although I do think that it's very wrong that they did that, the U.S. passengers did get warned about how dangerous it was. They decided to go there anyways. I think that what the people did in Somalia did was VERY wrong. Somalia isn't the richest of places, but that didn't mean they needed to pirate and kill the people. But in some ways I can understand why they did it. Maybe they wanted a better life. Maybe they had a wife and child. Maybe they were living on the streets. The death tole for this 6.3-magnitude Earthquake has risen to 163, and officials speculate that it may climb to around 200. New Zealand residents say that the damage caused by this earthquake is much worse than a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck there last September. I think that these recurring disasters in New Zealand are an unfortunate natural occurrence, especially for New Zealand.

Thank god he was 200 miles away, he only felt it a little bit. Many people died in the earthquake It was very sad but everyone in the US is trying to help. We hope more people survive. Almost everywhere you look there is an earthquake which is pretty tragic considering we only have so many builders to build so many buildings. Because of this the population in New Zealand will lower if there is anymore earthquakes there well, actually anywhere. Hopefully there okay.

I am going to look at both point of views. Gadaffi's and the demonstrators point of view in this Libya essay. For Gadaffi, everything he is doing seems like a waste. He is giving every person in Libya $400 and he is doing all those crazy things. Demonstrators are not going to give up and he is going to lose wealth. Gadaffi is wasting wealth with his bribes. He is not doing anything to stop. This killing and everything is a waste. From the dictator's point of view, well Gadaffi is not giving up demonstrators are not giving up. Well, they feel they are winning. Gadaffi is giving in a little and that is that. They feel that Gadaffi is cruel but they are winning. Gadaffi will just probably keep doing his thing and demonstrators will keep doing their things so in truth nobody is winning, if somebody wins most probably the demonstrators will. That is the story in this story.
