Directions for CE-OP (Current Events Opinion) Blog
This page provides you with an opportunity to sound off about current events. After viewing the current The Week in Rap video, pick a news story link (see the homework page’s Friday links), and write a comment. Working alone or with a partner, start out with “I think...”, and use some words from the news story you reviewed. Then include a statement “because ...” that includes words from the news story. I think that it was good for Tunisia to overthrow there ambassador because he was not doing what he said he would an there were a lot of jobless people and families.

I think that it was good for the people of Tunisia to overthrow the government because he wasn't a very good leader and now they can elect a better government.

I think that the mudslides in Brazil are a terrible catastrophe. I think this because there are at least 207 people missing, and 741 confirmed dead, and they are still adding to the death count as they find more bodies amongst the debris.

I think that Tunisia was smart to overthrow their leader because if u educate the people then raise the food price and givre them no jobs that stupid.

I think that this event was very depressing on January 19th, 2011 when the floods and mudslides hit Brazil. At least 207 people are missing and 741 are now dead. Families still suffer while army helicopters are searching for the 207 missing people that may be dead or alive. As you can see, people in Brazil are not as secure as they used to think.

ReplyDeleteWe think that it was a good idea for Tunisia to overthrow their ruler, because: first of all, he wasted money and just spent it on other things, and not the country he is supposed to be ruling. Many people protested, and many of those got shot or injured by Tunisia's own Military and Police. The leader then fled into hiding.
ReplyDeleteThe success of this caused many other countries to start demonstrations like this. Egypt is an example. Many of the high-ranking people in Egypt's government resigned as a result of these protests. Egypt took it so far that they cut off all sorts of Internet or Phone communications so the protesters would not be able to organize their demonstrations anymore.
Tunasia's Emperor worked on education, but not jobs, so many educated people ended up without jobs.

I think the Tunisia people did the right thing, and a very, very good thing, in choosing to overthrow their leader. Their leader spilled out promises, that had no effort, no meaning. He did supported education, but backfired when he didn't get more jobs for the newly educated. The revolution lifted the spirits and hopes of the Egyptian people to revolt against their leader. The Tunisian people did the right thing to revolt against their emperor, and did more than they probably expected.

I think that the events that have been happening in Tunisia are good for the people living at Tunisia because their leader was not a good leader who left many people without jobs. Now that they got rid of their bad leader the people of Tunisia will be able to find a stronger leader.

We think that it was a good thing for the people of Tunisia to overthrow their ambassador because he never really cared about the people and never kept most of his promises. It is probably time for Tunisia to have a better government and ambassador.

I think i was a smart decision that Tunisia overthrew their leader because their leader told them that he would give them good things but left people jobless. It would be hard to earn money when people don't have jobs because they need money for them (and families) to survive.

I think that it is horrible that so many people in the U.S.A are smoking. They should make it illegal to buy or sell tobacco in U.S.A. It makes me so sad to know that people know that smoking can shave off years of their lives, yet they still smoke.
ReplyDeleteI think it was a good choice made by the Tunisians to overthrow their leader because, first, they overthrew a leader that wasn't a good leader and second, they encouraged and gave hope to the Egyptians that they could overthrow their bad leader too.

I thought that it was a great idea for tunisia to overthrow their leader, because the ruler was only focusing on education, not jobs.Leading to people with education but many with no jobs. The overthrow of there ruler was also good because,people with no jobs might have led to the entire country falling.

The overthrow in tunisia was very good but,it also lead to other countries overthrowing their rulers . For instance, now in egypt they are also overthrowing there ruler this was good because he was also doing the same thing as the tunisian leader. and now other countries are making there citizens happy so they don't overthrow them.

I think that the Chinese might be able to launch their stealth fighter. Some people believe that the Chinese got this idea from the Americans stealth fighter that was shut down in 1999 in Serbia. I myself would think that they got their idea from the Americans because their so called ''idea'' is just like the Americans idea of a stealth fighter

I think that it is really neat that the 83rd Academy Awards were held on Tuesday morning. It took place in Beverly Hills, CA. I thought it was really cool because "The King's Speech", which is about friendship and speech thearapy, got 12 nods! This great event was hosted by Tom Sherak and Mo'Nique.

I think it is very sad that there is in an increase of health risk in the USA. Because smoking has become a declining habbit there are about 45,000 early deaths every year. Not only is bad health at risk but so is our envioromet.

I think that way to many people are smoking in the U.S because the increase of deaths is getting bigger, smoking can take valuable years from your life, even if you quit. All people shouldn't even START smoking because once you start, you become addicted:( i think smoking should be banned from the U.S because of the danger it causes:(

I think it's scary that the chinese have found a special way to make their jet fighters invisible. If we start another war with them it would be an instant loss for the U.S.

I think that there are too many people smoking in the U.S. because the death rate is increasing and that means these people are losing years of their lives. smoking can lead to lung cancer which can easily kill you. People shouldn't start smoking in the first place. It will save good years for you. Smoking should be illegal EVERYWHERE. Therefore, many people's lives will be safe for a long time. It's a waste of money and a waste of a precious life. You only get one, it's really, really sad that this is such a strong addiction for many, many people. :(((((

I think its very very scary for the Chinese to have invisible air craft. They could attack us and we wouldn't know what it was. I wouldn't want to be an enemy of the Chinese.

I think that its really frightening, whats going on in egypt. Um an i think they should do something about those people. Someone could really get hurt. i mean a crowd that big is dangerous

I think that we are doing good in science because we have good teachers and good activities to help us for the test, but most students do not like to study because its not as fun as other things such as hanging out with friends. Am i right ? But i think we could do better. Also because a recent survey showed that we are not proficient science tests.

I think those kids who didn't do so well in science should do well because science is fun and could help us threw things we don't know. They are the next line of being our scientists. Just like Albert Einstein, he helped us for a very long time and we wouldn't be in this stage without him. The students could be like this if they participated and did well.

I think that it's great that Osama was killed because now the terrorists are now a lot weaker without a strong ruler and the are helpless and defenseless.
