Directions for CE-OP (Current Events Opinion) Blog

This page provides you with an opportunity to sound off about current events. After viewing the current The Week in Rap video, pick a news story link (see the homework page’s Friday links), and write a comment. Working alone or with a partner, start out with “I think...”, and use some words from the news story you reviewed. Then include a statement “because ...” that includes words from the news story. See the first example below from Sunday, January 23. Be sure to leave your first name and the initial of your last name (not your full last name), so you can get credit. Also indicate your class period. Create your Blog in the Comments section for the current week.

Jan. 24-28, 2011 - Tunisia Revolution (sample post)

I think the recent revolution in Tunisia might be a good thing for the people of Tunisia. I think it was a good thing because the people got rid of a dictator who was supposed to promote democracy. Ben Ali, the leader they protested, only promoted corruption, unemployment, and poverty. Now that Ben Ali has left the country, hopefully the Tunisians will find a strong leader who will promote honesty and true democracy.

Now you pick one of the links on Friday's homework page, review the story, and write your opinion in the comment section below. Be sure to include your first name, last name initial, and your period #.
